Taylor, Peter (Hillsman)
(8 ene. 1917, Trenton, Tenn., EE.UU.– 2 nov. 1994, Charlottesville, Va.).

Cuentista, novelista y dramaturgo estadounidense. En la década de 1930 estudió con varios poetas vinculados al renacimiento literario del sur de EE.UU. Enseñó en diversas universidades, entre ellas la Universidad de Virginia. Se le conoce sobre todo por sus cuentos, que suelen estar ambientados en el Tennessee contemporáneo y abordar los conflictos entre la vieja sociedad rural y el "Nuevo Sur industrializado. Una de sus mejores obras es la novela corta Una mujer de recursos (1950). Entre sus últimos trabajos se cuentan The Old Forest and Other Stories [El viejo bosque y otros cuentos] (1985) y Memphis (1986, Premio Pulitzer).
